Complete control over all aspects of your empire, including units, is a bit daunting at first, but very addictive. The open endedness of the game makes each session carry components unique to that session, and the AI ranges from trvially simple to fight (for casual games and acquainting one's self with the system) to devastatingly nasty (Harder aggressors and cheat bots mean they put the pressure on constantly). From small skirmishes with enemy scout forces to full on thousand ship fleet battles this game immerses you in a three D environment that's captivating to watch.. I have to say that my bad rating is most likely caused by the fact that I played this game at a time when it was already outdated since a long time. On the other hand, there are a lot of outdated games out there, but whose brilliance cant be devalued by that in any way... In itself the whole game just felt too chaotic for me - even though there is always the possibility to pause at any time; But I think that a turn-based model would have been much more appropriate here.. This is a realy nice space game with alot of detailed customization of ships and bases. I recommend getting one of the mod's for the game though to have even more customization options.. This game is goddamned incredible and you should support the developers by buying it.. Such a fantastic, open-ended game. You can make a swarm of little ships, build space miners, build dry docks, put thrusters on your planets, etc.Diplomacy is a bit wonky, and if you don't spam a bunch of ships as soon as you meet the other empires, they will declare war on you. But aside from that, it's pretty interesting to explore and populate new star systems.. This game is possible the best RTS i have ever played. If you like massing hudge armadas of planet sized ships, or researching antimater drives, or even destroying stars this game is for you, but be warry noble aritocrate of the stars, there is a giant♥♥♥♥♥learning curve, but once you get over it its all good :D
